賣家描述

Description:
This refined Japanese lacquer incense container (kōgō) was created by contemporary maki-e artist Miyata Sōkei of Fukui Prefecture. Executed in deep black lacquer, the piece is decorated with elegant silver-toned maki-e depicting seasonal motifs, including a snowflake, maple leaf, flower, and stylized crest-like forms surrounding a circular medallion on the lid. The restrained composition reflects the understated beauty of modern Japanese tea ceremony aesthetics while showcasing the precision of traditional maki-e craftsmanship. The incense container remains in very good condition with a rich glossy surface and comes complete with its original signed wooden storage box (tomobako) and the artist's printed biography. A fine contemporary tea utensil that combines practical function with refined decorative artistry, making it suitable for collectors of Japanese lacquerware and tea ceremony objects.
