HMV - His Master's Voice - Model 101 Portable Wind-up Gramophone - 1920s / early 1930s - with original crank and vintage album with 78rpm records.

For sale is a vintage HMV Model 101 portable gramophone, made by The Gramophone Company Ltd. in Hayes, Middlesex, England.

Details:
• Black leatherette case with nickel-plated metal corners and hardware. Original carrying handle.
• Inside lid: original HMV decal with Nipper the dog and "His Master's Voice - The Gramophone Company Ltd. - PATENTS APPLIED FOR"
• Original goose-neck tonearm with HMV No.4 soundbox. Brown felt turntable mat.
• Mechanical wind-up motor with crank handle (included). Speed regulator and brake lever on the side.
• Internal horn, fully mechanical - no electricity needed.

Included extra object:
Vintage record album (John Wanamaker / Philadelphia) with handwritten Record Index and approx. 10x 10-inch 78rpm shellac records (Columbia, etc.). Titles include Besame Mucho, Sleepy Lagoon, Deep Purple and others. Records are in used condition, in original paper sleeves.

Condition:
Good / Very Good vintage condition. Case shows normal age wear: some scuffs to the leatherette, wear to the handle, small edge wear (see photos). Hinges and latch work. Interior wood is good, some dust from storage.

Mechanically: turntable turns when wound by hand. Speed control moves freely. Soundbox is present and complete, but the mica diaphragm shows fine age craquelure (see close-up). Sold as found, unserviced, as-is - suitable for collector and light service before daily use. This is normal for 95-year-old gramophones.

Measurements: Approx. 35 x 28 x 15 cm (closed), weight approx. 6.5 kg.
