Distinctive Tressa automatic wristwatch from the 1970s, combining a stainless-steel cushion case with a striking brown fumé dial, bright blue central seconds hand and period steel bracelet with signed Tressa clasp.

The broad cushion-shaped case and closely fitted bracelet give the watch the integrated sports-dress appearance characteristic of the early 1970s. Its gradient dial changes from warm silver-brown at the centre to a much darker tone around the edge, complemented by faceted applied indices and the contrasting blue seconds hand.

At its heart is the Swiss ETA 2782: a 25-jewel automatic movement operating at 21,600 vibrations per hour and equipped with a quick-set date. This reliable ETA calibre was widely used by quality Swiss manufacturers during the period. The movement is shown in detail in the accompanying photographs.

Condition:

The watch is presented in very good, honest vintage condition, with some signs of normal use consistent with its age.

The fumé dial retains clear printing and attractive tonal variation. Under magnification, small age-related spots and localised marks can be seen on the dial, hands and applied indices; these details are documented in the close-up photographs and are considerably less noticeable at normal wrist distance.

The acrylic crystal has light surface scratches. The case, bracelet and clasp show light scratches, small marks and general wear from use. The signed clasp remains a particularly attractive feature and completes the strong 1970s appearance of the watch.

At the time of cataloguing, the fully wound movement produced the following timegrapher reading in the dial-up position:
