Due to its frequent coexistence with red-yellow limonite it gives specimens with very beautiful colors, which are sought after by mineral collectors.
Adamite is a secondary arsenic mineral of zinc. It is named after the French mineralogist Gilbert Joseph Adam (1795–1881), who provided the first specimens for study
