Chinese pale celadon nephrite jade pendant dragon and phoenix –China- 20th Century

On offer is this beautiful thick pale celadon nephrite jade pendant, with a double-sided carved image in relief. This older hand carved round-shape jade pendant has on both sides a depiction of a stylized dragon and phoenix. It has 2 small holes for hanging on a cord. Comes with free cord for hanging (included in the sale). An old beautifully crafted thick jade masterpiece! Very rare and attractive jade pendant, hard to find!

In Chinese culture, the dragon and phoenix are powerful symbols that often appear together, representing harmony and auspicious-ness, especially in the context of marriage. furthermore, the dragon symbolizes the emperor and the phoenix symbolizes the empress.

Has been identified as nephrite jade by measuring thermal conductivity and hardness and translucency. Also checked with UV light; which indicates a natural color. Provenance: Obtained from inland China. a Valuable and rare jade, very suitable as an addition to your high-end collection or to present as a gift! Please see test results and pictures.
