賣家描述
Scientific name: Spinosaurus aegyptiacus - Rooted Tooth
Location: Taouz, South Morocco
Geological Formation: Ifezouane Fm - KemKem Red Sandstone Beds
Age: Upper Cretaceous, Cenomanian stage ( 96 million years)
Size: 12,7cm
REF.: #J591
DESCRIPTION:
Observations: Stunning enormous huge partially rooted tooth. It has some restorations along fractures it suffered during excavation. These restorations basically consist of filling the fractures. In this case, the root its fully authentic and not composite. The fractures have been glued and filled, but unlike other cases, the root its real. About restorations and filled fractures: This is a typical technique used by local excavators to restore teeth. It\'s not a professional technique, and it leaves much to be desired. In this specimen, the main restorations have been carried out on the tip fractures along the crown.
Anyway, its an amazing good authentic example of the enormous dentition of this huge piscivorous dinosaur that reigned during the Cretaceous period in the ecosystems of what is now North Africa.
All of our fossils come with a Certificate of Authenticity. Every week, the issued Certificates of Authenticity are updated in our database verification system on our website. If you find that your certificate has not yet been updated, please contact us and we will update it immediately. Display box not included.
