賣家描述
antiqued German silver gravy boat with underplate – Bruckmann & Söhne – 800 Silver
Elegant antique German silver gravy boat with matching underplate, crafted in 800 silver and bearing the classic German crescent moon and crown hallmarks, confirming silver content and origin.
The interior of the sauce boat is fire-gilded (vermeil), a traditional technique used to protect the silver from the acidity of sauces while adding a refined golden contrast. This detail also indicates quality table silver intended for serious use rather than purely decorative purposes. The gilded golden yellow color is more intense in the photos than in reality.
The design features a scalloped, shell-inspired body, flowing contours, and ornately shaped handles with subtle Rococo revival influence, resting on a shaped underplate that mirrors the same elegant outline. The proportions are well balanced and visually striking, ideal for both formal dining and silver collections.
