Description
Overview:
Up for auction is an iconic piece of photographic history: the Polaroid Land Camera Model 95. Manufactured between 1948 and 1953, this was the world’s very first commercially sold instant camera, designed by Edwin Land. Featuring a classic brown leatherette finish and chrome detailing, it is an absolute must-have for collectors of vintage cameras and instant photography history.
Condition & Functionality:
Shutter: The mechanical shutter fires properly and clicks smoothly.
EV Dial / Aperture System: The EV selector dial on the front (marked 1 to 8) turns smoothly and engages the exposure mechanism as intended.
Focus Mechanism: The manual focus bed slides smoothly along the track, with clear foot markings (FEET 3–50 to ∞).
Viewfinder: The original flip-up frame viewfinder opens and closes correctly.
Internal Chamber & Rollers: Opening the back reveals a remarkably clean film compartment and metal rollers, with no visible corrosion or chemical residue from old film packs.
Bellows: Visually in good cosmetic condition with no major tears. Note: Light-tightness of the bellows has not been tested with an internal light source.
