Its tiny four-footed body rises into a slender neck, finished with a flared rim and a delicate band of pierced porcelain.

Cobalt-blue flowers and curling foliage have been painted by hand across the warm white ground. The openwork beneath the rim gives the vase a surprisingly intricate finish for something so small—it is very much a miniature, but certainly not an understated one.
