其最显著的特点在于两层的装饰：中部描绘一条东方龙，作为中国装饰艺术的传统元素，周围环绕着弯曲的花纹、植物元素和卷涡纹饰。两层的边缘外框也以细腻的手工雕刻重复的装饰纹样。

上层展示特别复杂的构图，龙被置于一个矩形框内，周围环绕着装饰纹样。下层重复相同主题，形成协调而引人注目的整体效果。

Antique two-tier carved wooden table – Oriental / Chinese style, late 19th – early 20th century

Elegant antique occasional or side table in carved solid wood, featuring a highly decorative two-tier rectangular structure supported by four turned and shaped legs with numerous rings and moulded details.

The most distinctive feature is the decoration of both shelves. The central panels depict an Oriental dragon, a traditional motif in Chinese decorative art, surrounded by flowing ornamental, floral and scrolling elements. The outer borders are also extensively hand-carved with repeated decorative motifs.

The upper surface features an elaborate composition with the dragon enclosed within a rectangular carved frame, while the lower shelf repeats the same decorative theme, creating a harmonious and highly decorative appearance.

The carving displays considerable attention to detail, particularly in the dragon’s scales, body, flowing forms and surrounding botanical decoration. The turned legs enhance the elegant and distinctive character of the piece.

Condition

The table is in good antique/vintage condition, with normal signs of age and previous use. There are visible scratches, small abrasions, variations in the original patina and minor imperfections in the wood. Please carefully examine all photographs, which form an integral part of the description.

Small holes consistent with old woodworm activity are visible, particularly on less exposed areas. As is customary with antique wooden furniture, preventive woodworm treatment may be advisable before domestic use.
