WWI French Adrian Model 1915 Infantry Helmet

An original WWI French M1915 Adrian helmet, a significant piece of military history. This helmet features its paint, which shows an authentic patina with surface rust and wear consistent with its age and service. The steel shell is solid and retains its correct comb or crest on the crown.

The front of the helmet is adorned with the scarce and desirable infantry insignia—the "RF" (République Française) cypher within a flaming grenade. This insignia is still present and correct, although showing signs of wear.

Internally, the helmet retains its original leather liner. The multi-tongue (chocolat) leather segments are mostly intact, showing drying, stiffening, and some tears and fraying, typical for a combat-worn helmet of this era. The original drawstring remains to adjust the liner. The chinstrap is unfortunately missing.

This helmet is in "as-found," untouched condition and has not been cleaned or restored. It displays wonderfully and would be a cornerstone addition to any serious WWI or French military collection. Please examine the photographs carefully to appreciate the condition and originality of this item.
