" Time tracings": Geometric shapes and thin lines seem to emerge and disappear on the surface. Earth tones, rust, grays, browns and beiges build a severe balance interrupted by a small violet accent. Marks and overlays become traces of something that time has transformed but not erased.

PAOLO CONTIN has developed a personal artistic path for more than twenty-five years, continually evolving. Trained in design and active since 1980 in the fashion world, he transfers to painting a particular sensitivity to color, form, and compositional balance.

Since 1999 he has exhibited his works, and in 2002 he held his first solo show in Padua. This has been followed by numerous exhibitions in Italy and abroad, with appearances in Copenhagen, Munich, Paris, Brussels, Istanbul, Buenos Aires and Sydney.

Paolo Contin’s artistic trajectory is also documented by inclusion in the Catalogo dell'Arte Mondadori with related quotations. Over the years his works have also appeared in Arte Mondadori magazine and in numerous catalogs and volumes produced for solo shows and major Art Fairs, some published with the support of the Istituto Italiano di Cultura.

He was also among the founding members of "Tostart", an artistic association born from the meeting of ten Veneto artists and active until the Pandemic period.

A versatile and independent artist, Contin has built over the years a recognizable language, distant from belonging to a single school or trend. His research traverses geometric abstraction, material and gestural painting, alternating rigor and expressive freedom. Lines, fields, geometric shapes and intense color relationships become elements of a vocabulary through which he explores balance, movement and emotion.

Experimentation also extends to sculpture and wood, with works built through the overlay of geometric elements, confirming a search that surpasses the boundaries of painting alone.
His work continues to evolve today without predefined formulas: every work arises from the will to preserve freedom, identity and expressive authenticity."
