“No One There” is part of my series “Beyond the Horizon” and explores one of the most difficult human experiences: loneliness.
Loneliness is not simply the absence of other people. Sometimes it is an inner space where we are left alone with ourselves — with our thoughts, fears, memories, and questions.
The horizon becomes a boundary between what we know and what remains invisible. We look beyond it, searching for something or someone, but sometimes there is no one there.
The solitary form in the composition exists between two worlds, as if searching for a way forward. The work reflects how difficult loneliness can be to understand, accept, and live with.
But perhaps being alone also forces us to encounter something we often try to escape: ourselves.
“No One There” does not offer an answer. It is simply a moment beyond the horizon — a confrontation with emptiness, silence, and our own presence.
The artwork is created with mixed media and pigment on high-quality 100% cotton canvas (315 g/m²). It is hand-signed on the reverse and will be shipped unframed and carefully rolled in a protective tube. The additional canvas around the 100 × 70 cm composition allows the work to be stretched and framed by the collector.
