In Serene gaze Woman, the artist recovers the solemnity of classical portraiture through a figure standing upright, facing forward with a composed gesture. The wide-brimmed hat frames the face, while the elongated neck and the diagonals of the dress accentuate the elegance of the composition. The supported arm and the hand falling softly introduce a naturalness that balances the ceremonial presence of the character.

The construction of the face is articulated through a chromatic division between warm tones and light blues. This device provides a contained cubist reading, in which the continuity of the expression remains above fragmentation.
