AJ Barnes (USA, 1962) 在1989年获得俄亥俄大学艺术硕士学位，此前于1985年在韦恩州立大学完成艺术教育。他是前任编辑摄影师，创作大量个人作品时使用宝丽来即时摄影胶片。随着2004年宝丽来公司解散，他开始使用湿法复印过程，这是一种1851年发明的古董玻璃板摄影技术。
