Up for auction is an exceptionally well-preserved vintage metal powder compact from the early 1950s. This historical item serves as a beautiful souvenir from the Allied occupation period of Germany following World War II.
The top features a deep blue enamel finish, centered with a detailed gold-toned relief map of the Zone Belge (the Belgian occupation zone), displaying various historical town names and the iconic Belgian lion shield. The reverse side is decorated with an elegant, classic guilloche diamond pattern.
Condition and details:
* Exterior: The blue enamel and gold-toned metal are in very clean, shiny condition with minimal signs of age.
* Interior: In excellent condition. The original mirror is completely clear and shows no foxing or silvering degradation.
* Completeness: A highly complete set! The original inner lid, the mesh powder sifter, and the authentic powder puff are all present. The interior appears virtually unused.
