This DAC smooths out the Sonos presentation. I guess what folks would say is "more musical," although the built in Sonos connect DAC is not bad. Why use this one instead of any other DAC on the market. Its not just the cosmetics, although it is clearly made for the connect. For me, its that you don't have to worry about turning it on and off. Basically, once its attached, you keep using your connect just like you always would. The DAC sleeps when not in use, and turns on when the connect does.
