賣家描述
Glass Sponge on Metal Stand – Camotes Sea, Philippines
An elegant natural glass sponge from the Camotes Sea, Philippines, displaying the delicate siliceous framework characteristic of the class Hexactinellida.
The specimen has an elongated tubular form with a remarkably fine lattice structure, composed of countless interwoven silica elements that create an almost textile-like appearance. The outer surface develops into a series of delicate, irregular flaring folds, giving the sponge a highly sculptural and ethereal character.
The upper opening clearly reveals the intricate internal meshwork, while the long cylindrical body shows the characteristic geometric architecture for which glass sponges are so admired.
This specimen does not contain the symbiotic shrimps sometimes associated with glass sponges of this type.
It is mounted vertically on a metal display stand, which provides stability while keeping the structure fully visible from all sides.
A refined natural history specimen with strong scientific and decorative appeal, ideal for a marine collection, cabinet of curiosities or sophisticated interior display.
