賣家描述
MARIA RUISI — SHE WHO Wears THE SUN — 2019
Unique Original Painting — Acrylic on Canvas
50 × 50 × 2.5 cm — Delivered Mounted on a Hardwood Stretcher
A composed gaze, an expansive silhouette and a radiant field of colour: She Who Wears the Sun is a striking portrait that brings together expressive brushwork and an intimate human presence.
Maria Ruisi places the woman at the centre of a vibrant composition. Her dark hair forms a broad silhouette around a multicoloured headwrap, framing a face shaped through warm highlights and deep shadows. The direct gaze establishes an immediate connection with the viewer.
Orange, yellow, red, blue and green passages animate the background. Their vertical movement contrasts with the stillness of the figure. The patterned clothing echoes these colours, while the layered necklace introduces intricate details and a finer visual rhythm.
From a distance, the portrait holds the eye through its strong contrasts and balanced composition. Closer viewing reveals individual brushstrokes, subtle facial modelling and the interplay of patterns across the headwrap, jewellery and clothing.
The title suggests a light carried within the figure. A handwritten poem on the reverse extends this association:
“She weaves the dawn into her hair,
And silence glows with golden light.
The sun leaves traces of its warmth,
And through her eyes, the world grows bright.”
The painting invites a personal reading of dignity, warmth and quiet confidence.
