賣家描述

here it is beautifully elaborated cloisonne vase, by master Tanaka Terukazu, in stunning green translucent color with gold and silver leaf design, it will be perfect display in your home.

Tanaka Terukazu, born in 1945 is a Japanese metal artist specializing in the creation of hammered boxes, vases and sculptural forms and that fuse traditional copper alloys with gold and silver to produce luminous, patinated surfaces. Born in Tokyo's Yanaka district to a metalsmith father, Tanaka trained under his father before graduating from the Metal Crafts Department of Tokyo Metropolitan Crafts High School in 1964. His career gained prominence in 1971 when his work was accepted into the annual exhibition of the Japan Art Academy (Nitten), marking the start of his rise in Japan's contemporary craft scene. Since 1979, he has regularly exhibited at the New Craft Exhibition (Shin Kogei Ten), serving as a judge for the event from 1990 onward, which underscores his influence in the field. Tanaka's signature style draws on historical Japanese techniques, such as those used for Buddhist ornaments and samurai sword fittings, blending alloys like shakudo, shibuichi and kuromido to achieve vibrant, colored effects on oversized box forms. In 2018, he was selected as the second artist in residence for Japanese Metalwork Design at the Smithsonian's National Museum of Asian Art. His award-winning oeuvre has been featured in international exhibitions, including Asia Week New York (2020) and the Lixil Gallery in Tokyo (2018), highlighting his role in modernizing traditional metalwork.
His works could been found in The Metropolitan Museum of Art and other museums.
