It’s finely molded around the exterior shoulder with a wide band of stylized archaistic taotie (饕餮紋) motifs in shallow relief. The straight neck is flanked by a pair of upright loop handles.

The vessel is overall covered with a smooth, translucent celadon glaze of a delicate soft sea-green tone, suffused with a network of fine crackles (ge-type crackle). The glaze stops short at the tips of the feet, revealing the fine porcelain body underneath.
