Villeroy & Boch “American Sampler” – Extensive Vintage Tea & Coffee Service – First Impressions 1981 – Mint Condition

An exceptionally beautiful and extensive vintage tea and coffee service by Villeroy & Boch Luxembourg, from the American Sampler collection, designed by First Impressions 1981.

The service is in mint condition and appears to have never been used. The glazed surfaces, cup interiors, rims and bases are remarkably fresh and clean. No chips, no cracks and no visible signs of use.

The decoration is particularly charming and refined, featuring delicate rural scenes with figures, trees, flowers and birds on a warm ivory-coloured ground, finished with an elegant burgundy-red border.

The set comprises 23 pieces:

* 6 large tea/coffee cups
* 6 matching saucers
* 1 large lidded pot
* 1 milk jug
* 1 small cream jug
* 1 lidded sugar bowl
* 2 small lidded jars / jam jars
* 1 large round cake or serving platter
* 1 elongated serving platter
* 1 large open serving bowl
* 1 small open dessert/serving bowl

The cups are generously sized and suitable for both coffee and tea; they are full-size cups rather than small mocha or espresso cups.

Several pieces bear the original Villeroy & Boch “American Sampler – First Impressions 1981” backstamp. The service includes pieces marked VITRO-Porcelaine as well as VILBOFOUR / Oven to Tableware, reflecting the different Villeroy & Boch production lines used within the collection.

A particularly harmonious and decorative vintage ensemble, rarely found today as such a large, complete and exceptionally well-preserved set.
