19 parts of the magazine Kijk met oorlogsnieuws
The booklet Periscoop Op!
The Knickerbocker Weekly, vol. 5, no. 27, 27-08-1945.
The booklet Het Britsche Leger van thans.
Everything is over 80 years old!!
The parts of Kijk are in reasonable condition. Except for one page in part 13, everything is complete. Here and there small tears, discoloration, bent corners, and a slightly damaged spine. See also the accompanying photos. This is an impression; not everything is photographed. The parts are 1-7-11-12-13-14-15-16 (2x present), 17-18-19-20-21-22-24-25-27-28-29/30-extra issue.
Added is part 23 but it is in poor condition.
Kijk appeared twice a month. Published by the “American Office of Information” (Amerikaansch Ministerie van Voorlichting). The only goal of KIJK was to articulate the present in words and pictures in the Low Countries during the liberation and until magazines could appear in freedom themselves.
The booklet “Periscoop Op!” is in good condition. This booklet concerns the wartime history of the submarine service of the Royal Navy.
“The Knickerbocker Weekly” is in fairly good condition. This was a Dutch-English bilingual magazine that specifically targeted Dutch people who emigrated to the United States before and during World War II.
The booklet “Het Britsche Leger van thans” is in very good condition. It describes all aspects of the British Army in 1945.
