Introduced in 1962, the Rado DiaStar was the world's first scratch-resistant watch, and its sculpted hardmetal case remains one of the most recognisable silhouettes in Swiss watchmaking. This vintage example, engraved DiaStar 1/E on the case back, presents the classic domed cushion case with its mirror-polished tungsten-carbide shell and dark grey bezel ring. A deep black dial with applied baton markers, the red-tinted Rado anchor emblem and a date window at three o'clock gives it a confident, unmistakably 1970s character. Paired with an integrated-style stainless steel bracelet, it is a distinctive and highly wearable piece of Rado design history.
