Giant Box Crab – Calappa calappa (Linnaeus, 1758)
Family: Calappidae
A well-preserved natural-history specimen of the Giant Box Crab, Calappa calappa, displaying the characteristic strongly convex, rounded carapace and large, powerful claws that can be folded closely beneath the body.

Common name: Giant Box Crab / Smooth Box Crab
Family: Calappidae
Origin: Indo-Pacific
Approximate size: 11 cm
Condition: Preserved natural specimen, with minor signs consistent with age and preparation.
