History

A distinctive Alpina StratOmatic automatic wristwatch, estimated to date from the late 1960s or 1970s. It features a stainless-steel cushion-shaped case and a silver/champagne sunburst dial with applied faceted hour markers, broad hands, central seconds and a date window at 3 o’clock.

The dial is signed “Alpina – STRATOMATIC – SWISS MADE T”. The caseback bears the Alpina StratOmatic logo, the reference number 679C and the inscription “ACIER INOXYDABLE”.

The watch is fitted with the Alpina Cal. 572C automatic movement, specified as having 25 jewels.

The dial displays pronounced natural ageing, with patina, spotting and discoloration, particularly in the upper section. These marks give the watch an authentic vintage appearance.
