賣家描述
Late Inca–Early Hispanic Wooden Bowl with Twin Handles and Central Carved Elements – Late 16th to Early 17th Century AD
A shallow wooden bowl with a rounded body, a broad circular opening and two opposing rectangular lug handles projecting from the rim. Two elongated, parallel carved elements rise from the interior, separated by a narrow channel and terminating in shaped upright ends. This unusual central arrangement distinguishes the piece from a conventional serving bowl, although its precise function is left unidentified. The wood displays dark brown and reddish tones on the exterior, contrasting with the lighter, worn interior. Visible grain, irregular carving marks and surface abrasion contribute to its textured appearance. Cracks descend from the rim, with chips and losses around the edge and central projections. The piece preserves a distinctive combination of vessel form and sculptural carving.
Material: Wood
Dimensions: Maximum width including handles 24.6 cm; bowl diameter 22 cm
Weight: 254 g
Provenance: Adquired in Germany from a Bayerisch collection.
We guarantee the authenticity of the pieces, backed by the combined experience of our experts spanning more than 40 years. A Certificate of Authenticity (CoA) will be sent digitally by email.
