Frandsen – FM 1954 Floor Lamp – Matt White
Designed by Friis & Moltke
With the FM 1954 floor lamp by Frandsen, you bring a timeless icon of Danish design into your interior. Originally created in 1954 by acclaimed architects Friis & Moltke, the lamp is a beautiful balance between minimalist form and functional excellence. This updated version honours the original design’s elegance while adding modern refinements for everyday living.
Clean Lines – Light Expression
The FM 1954 features a slim, sculptural frame crafted from matt-lacquered metal, complemented by a rounded lampshade and discreet acrylic diffuser at the top. The result is a beautifully balanced light that provides a soft, glare-free atmosphere while emphasizing the lamp’s subtle detailing. Whether placed next to a reading chair, in a corner of the living room, or as a sculptural accent, this lamp offers timeless simplicity.
A Soft Statement in Matt White
The matt white version offers a fresh, airy feel that works beautifully in both contemporary and classic interiors. It blends effortlessly into neutral palettes or acts as a calm contrast in darker rooms. The clean finish highlights the lamp’s refined silhouette and brings an understated elegance to any space.
Enduring Craftsmanship
Built with a solid metal frame and designed to transcend passing trends, the FM 1954 is a lamp that stands the test of time. It’s a true investment in quality, designed to evolve with your home and lifestyle.
About the Designers
Knud Friis (1926–2010) and Elmar Moltke Nielsen (1924–1997) founded their firm FRIIS & MOLTKE in 1954 and played a pivotal role in Danish modernism. Known for their softened take on Brutalist architecture, their legacy is evident in landmark projects across Denmark and beyond. The FM series reflects their commitment to form, function, and enduring design.
