Minerva presents an 800-standard silver cream jug with a rounded body, a shaped pouring lip and an ornamental scroll handle. Repousse rocaille work and foliage cover the exterior, while the interior has a gilt-coloured finish. The base is stamped 800 and carries a crowned SR mark with additional punches.

This group of marks is consistent with silver associated with Simon Rosenau; the maker attribution is offered cautiously and is not a certification.

The photographed 800 mark is retained as the silver standard. A must have for collectors of richly decorated Continental cream jugs.
