賣家描述
Description
Immature Perrector falloti (Hupé, 1953) from the Lower Cambrian Souss Lagerstätte, Morocco – 521–515 million years old, featuring detailed cranidium and terrace ridges. Museum-grade, no restoration. Internal and external moulds.
OUR GRADING FOR THIS SPECIMEN: 4/5 **** – Rare species; terrace ridges, well-preserved cranidial anatomical details; diagenetic partial coloration. Both moulds (internal & external).
Specimen ID: PAIS9625
Trilobite Size: 1.8 × 1.4 cm
Matrix Size: 18.5 × 10 cm
Weight (slab with part and counterpart): 520 g
Lithostratigraphy: Tazemmourt Section, Upper Amouslek Formation (Lower Cambrian, Stage 3).
Biostratigraphy: Daguinaspis Zone of the Cambrian Souss Fossil Lagerstätte (see the poster at picture or consult our website for details).
Age: Cambrian, Early Paleozoic Era. 521-515 million years old.
Collected: January 2026.
This scientifically significant slab presents a rare assemblage from Africa’s first and oldest Cambrian Lagerstätte.
Note:
1– Acute glabella with L4 anterior tip far ahead of ocular lobes
2– Partialy esfoliated genal left spine exposing subparallel terrace ridges; genal angle in a markedly anterior position; partial reddish coat, probably due to diagenetic substituition of the exoskeleton by iron oxides
3 - Ocular lobe strongly and equally curved, with broad eye ridges and broad palpebral lobes, opposite to anterior L4 till occipital ring (L0)
4– Faintly, yet visible, preserved pygidium and pygidial plate, which is rare
A rarely seen, almost complete (lacks both macropleurae) immature Perrector falloti (Hupé, 1953), well-preserved internal mould and external mould. Note the partial diagenetic coloration on both moulds, a hallmark of Souss Lagerstätte preservation.
This is a uniquely detailed specimen of this species at this age.
