巴塔克剑，20世纪 - 皮索 戈卢克 塔卡 - Karo Batak - 印度尼西亞

Piso goluk taka of the Karo-Batak.

Century provenance: Sumatra, Typical, slightly curved, single-edged blade with a triangular section, with a small, three-pointed rest near the base. Horn hilt carved in sanalenggam style with an anthropomorphic figure. Wooden scabbard, with old dutch VOC coin and rattan bands. Faceted wooden chape. Rare. length 57 cm.

The hilt represents a batak figure in the typical podang shape, and the languets fits into an openworked space of the scabbard mouth. Beautiful old, forged blade, with a clear pattern visible.

The wood is difficult to determine my best ques is teakwood and has a beautiful patina. Beautiful rare item not often seen, true collector’s item! Although this piece shows signs of use it has fantastic rich decoration. The patina, which indicates its considerable age, combined with its elegant design, makes it an ethnographic object of great interest.
