The 1996 vintage is composed of approximately 80% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Franc and 10% Cabernet Sauvignon. Robert Parker described the wine as unusually powerful and highly concentrated for a 1996 Pomerol, with blackberry, prune and roasted-coffee characteristics and a strong tannic structure.
