撞擊石 來自 Hummeln 結構 - Småland, 瑞典 - 高度: 36.9 mm - 10.9 g

The Hummeln structure was confirmed in 2015 as an impact crater in the province of Småland, Sweden. It is a 1.2 kilometer (0.75 mi) wide depression in Lake Hummeln and is believed to have formed between 470 and 443 million years ago, during the Ordovician. Several studies of meteorites indicate that a large asteroid impact occurred approx. 470 mln. years in the asteroid belt of our solar system. The Ordovician meteor event is associated with the fall of the remains of a large L-chondrite meteorite. This is indicated by an abundance of fossil L-chondritic meteorites in a quarry in Sweden and increased concentrations of ordinary chondritic chromite grains in sedimentary rocks of this time. The breakup of the meteorite scattered fragments into Earth-crossing orbits, a chronology that is also supported by shock ages in many L-chondrite meteorites falling to Earth today. This special impact is a great specimen for any collection, however it should be clear that this is not a meteorite but was formed as a result of the tremendous pressure and speed of the meteorite hitting the ground and interacting with the earth's rocks.
