Nomen était très connu dans la scène Graffiti/Street Art. Il était l'un des artistes les plus prestigieux du Portugal. Avec une carrière de 30 ans, son long parcours professionnel l'a amené à peindre dans d'innombrables pays à l'intérieur et à l'extérieur de l'Europe. De plus, son travail a été montré et mis en valeur dans des magazines, des sites Web et des livres, au Portugal et à l'étranger (plus récemment au Qatar).

Nomen (1974) était le pionnier du graffiti au Portugal, dont l'univers interagit avec l'espace urbain, dès les premières incursions illégales dans les trains et les murs. Il développait des oeuvres à grande échelle tant en milieu exposé qu'institutionnel.
