Amon-Ra was one of the most important deities in Ancient Egypt, the result of the fusion of two gods: Amon, god of the air and the occult, and Ra, god of the sun and creator of the universe. He was considered omnipresent and omnipotent, which made him comparable to concepts of a single deity in other ancient cultures. His main center of worship was in Thebes, in the great temple of Karnak, one of the most impressive religious complexes of antiquity.
