賣家描述
We are pleased to present a rare vintage collection that embodies the charm of traditional Japanese culture: a set of “Hanko” stamps"
This set includes approximately 100 wooden hanko stamps, believed to date back to the Showa period. Each stamp is intricately carved with different, complex kanji characters, showcasing the depth and artistry of Japan’s unique writing culture.
Historically, hanko (personal seals) were once symbols of authority and became widespread among common people during the Edo period. Even today, they are still used in place of signatures on contracts and official documents, deeply rooted in Japanese society as proof of identity and trust.
The variety of names and words engraved on these stamps reflects the cultural devotion to calligraphy and written expression. This collection will appeal not only to collectors but also to anyone interested in Japanese art and culture.
They can also serve as unique craft materials or educational tools for learning kanji. With a bit of creativity, you might use them as ex libris (book ownership stamps), as message stamps, or in various other artistic projects.
**Condition**
The set contains both used and unused pieces.
Some stamps show ink stains and signs of age, but there are no cracks or major damage. Overall, the condition is very good considering their age.
**Size**
Each stamp: approx. 6 cm × 1 cm
Material: Wood
**Keywords**
Japan / Showa / Vintage / Collection / Kanji / Stamp / Wooden / Art
**Shipping**
Ships from Japan with tracking via EMS or DHL.
