Michael Tkatschow is a German artist and art lecturer at the Stade Art School.

The artist works in various techniques (primarily acrylic painting and mixed media) and combines abstract and surreal forms and textures with figurative classical painting in his distinctive visual language.
The painting "Mavkas Wiegenlied" is one of his newest works from 2025, in which the artist devotes himself more to classical figurative painting. He intentionally inflicts random "scars" such as scratches, holes, or discolorations on the motif.
The imperfection of the surface as an element of transience , creation and destruction. Inyō (陰陽) principle, where the bright qualities unite with shadowy aspects, complementing each other.
