賣家描述
Recently, Jura have recognised the importance of their island home with the release of Jura 20 Year Old One and All, a 20-Year-Old malt that celebrates the small community on the isle of Jura. It is bottled at 51% ABV and has not been chill filtered.
It has been made from malt matured in ex-Bourbon casks and ex-Sherry casks, with a mix of Cabernet Franc and Cabernet Sauvignon casks, and Pinot Noir barriques as well.
This is quite a hearty mix, but it is not unknown for Jura’s Master Distiller, Richard Patterson, to choose interesting wine cask combinations to mature his malt.
The nose opens with lots of heat and spice. There is a lovely warming ginger scent, as well as smooth honey and vanilla.
The oak from the casks comes through with a delicate sweetness to it. it is slightly woody, but has a nice depth to it.
This goes hand in hand with the spicy ginger and cinnamon that add warmth to this dram.
There is also a hint of mango and pineapple, to give One and All a nice tang.
The palate is richer and thicker, with dense black cherries and black forest gateau coming though.
The flavours are expertly crafted and complement each other wonderfully. The honey from the nose comes through on the palate as a smooth mouth feel, with soft earthy notes to it.
The vanilla makes the whole thing sweeter, with burnt white sugar and candyfloss appearing alongside it.
The finish is strong, with more oak wood and a little hint of marzipan to it.
