A wonderful Ando Jubei Studio vase from the late Meiji to early Shōwa period, featuring a refined “belle’s shoulder” form and a deep emerald-green enamel glaze of remarkable depth and clarity. The delicate floral motifs are worked seamlessly beneath the surface, giving the vase a perfectly smooth, glass-like finish.

About the Artist:
Ando Jubei (1876–1956) was one of Japan’s most celebrated cloisonné artists and a central figure in Nagoya’s enamel industry. His work was exhibited at the Japan–British Exhibition of 1910 and is represented in museum collections worldwide.
A superb example of Japanese cloisonné artistry, this vase exemplifies the elegance, craftsmanship, and innovation that made Ando Jubei a master of his craft.
