This antique leather tobacco jar dates from the early 20th century. Such jars were traditionally used for the storage of pipe tobacco and were often displayed as a sign of hospitality and refinement.

The jar is entirely made of thick shaped leather and features a finely detailed raised relief decoration on the lid, including classical ornamental motifs and putti. The craftsmanship and natural patina give this piece a strong historical character. Both functional and decorative, it is an attractive collector’s object.
