A finely painted wine jug from the Chongzhen period of a unusual type. The jug is decorated tulip leafs near the mouth, stylized ruyi shapes near the base of the neck, different bands of flowers and foliage on the shoulders and near the base again with the typical tulips leafs of the High transitional period. The large handle curves at the base.

Condition: The jug is in overall good condition but seems to be retouched near the base of the handle. This is barely visible and doesn't light up under UV light. Also a couple of glaze losses on the handle and near the mouth, typical of the late Ming period ware.
