A very nicely carved 18th/19th century mother of pearl snuffbottle with a depiction of Magu 麻姑 carrying a flower basket . The stopper made of red stone encased in Dutch gold mounting with golden chain. This is probably done in the 19th century to convert it to a perfume bottle. A small inlaid red stone seal mark on the reverse could indicate the once was a poem inscribed on the backside. Provenance: From a private Dutch collection. References: See a similar snuff bottle at Christie's: (USD 6,875,00) https://www.christies.com/en/lot/lot-5977710 Condition: In overall good condition, with a chip off the rim and the cork stopper broke off. No spoon. Dimensions: H6 x W4,5 cm Shipping method: The item is securely packed and shipped with insurance without stand or doll house vase.
