The temple is part of the Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto (Kyoto, Uji and Otsu Cities) UNESCO World Heritage site. Teruhide Kato (1936-2015) had studied at Kyoto Art College. He was a famous kimono fashion designer. When he was 50 years old, he decided to follow his real passion, and became a traditional Kyoto woodblock artist. Success remained with the artist. After a gallery exhibition in New York and a book publication of his works titled "Kyoto Romance" he is as famous as a woodblock artist as he used to be as a kimono designer This item is as new. Top condition and vibrant colors! Look at al the details! Never been framed. The blue passe-partout is not attached to the print and NOT part of this lot. Just as an example for how it could look. This work comes from the original blocks and is made by Unsodo after Teruhide Kato died. Teruhide Kato's wife gave it his red seal.
