This scroll comes with an appraised box by Sugihara Genjin 杉原元人 (1912-2009) 五島耕畝 Goto Koho (1882-1958) Born in Ibaraki Prefecture in 1882. Real name Sadao. Initially studied under Mito nanga painter Matsudaira Sekko. Moved to Tokyo and studied flower-and-bird painting under Araki Kanpo. His paintings were repeatedly selected for the Bunten and Teiten exhibitions.
