This figure is an embodiment of Dainichi Nyorai, the Cosmic Buddha, known in Buddhism as the defender against evil and a leader to enlightenment. Despite his fearsome appearance, Fudo Myo-o represents deep compassion; his sword cuts through ignorance and his rope saves sentient beings from suffering. The statue features a vibrant, flaming halo representing the deity’s divine aura and authority. Signs of age include surface wear, dust accumulation, and some chipping of the paint, with evidence of repair on the upper part of the halo.
