A fine bronze vase with a debossed and silver inlay motif of a koi 鯉 (carp) swimming in a tumultuous sea illuminated by a crescent moon. The vase has sleek, elongated profile. It begins with a narrow, rounded base. The body of the vase gently swells outward, creating a soft, bulbous form that narrows again as it ascends. The narrowing continues as it approaches the neck, which rises in a straight, cylindrical fashion before culminating in a slightly flared rim at the mouth. Coated with a dark brown patina. Period: Japan – Mid-Shôwa period (Mid-20th century). Dimensions: Height 24.2 cm, Diameter 10.5 cm. Weight 974 gram. In a good condition with minor signs of wear of the patina.
