Die Göttin Saraswati - Bronze - Indien - Ende des 20. Jahrhunderts

A bronze statue of the Indian Goddess Saraswati, the Hindu goddess of knowledge, music, flowing water, abundance and wealth, art, speech, wisdom, and learning. It is in super condition with a nice patina and no obvious flaws that we can see - refer to images. She is a pan-Indian deity, also revered in Jainism and Buddhism, where she is venerated in many forms, including the East Asian Benzaiten ("Eloquence Talent Deity"). She is generally depicted with four arms and holding/playing the 'Veena' (chordphone instrument). Other accoutrements could include a book, water pot and a rosary. In this case she appears to be holding a scroll/book in here lower left arm. Please note that shipping costs are not solely the cost of the postal delivery service itself. Included within the shipping price is the work undertaken to prepare the article, for photography, for uploading to Catawiki, for preparation and packaging the article securely and for transporting the article to the postal delivery agent for processing. Also, please consider when bidding on this lot that this artwork is shipped from the UK. Import duties will now have to be paid by the recipient to the Postal Service when the parcel arrives in your country. This will likely vary between 5% and 20% of the sale price depending on your country's Import Rate, so please check this if you are concerned.
