Originally released in 2008, the watch was immediately perceived as a superbly designed model and excellent quality for its price. Over the years, the watch has acquired collector's value. Soon, it became very sought after, as unworn and quality copies are decreasing. They were discontinued in 2018. I would not be wrong if I said that every self-respecting Seiko watch enthusiast treats this model with respect. The case combines matte and polished stainless steel finishes to perfection. Interesting lines on the lugs, comparable to those of the Grand Seiko. The dimensions of 38 mm and the distance between the lugs of 44.5 mm. may seem small to some, but the dynamic case is attractive enough to fit any wrist. The recent trend towards smaller cases maintains interest in this size. The dial is impeccable, balanced and refined. The Kit-Kat hour markers are perfectly polished and shine from every angle, also have a delicate luminescence. There is a standard applied logo below 12 o'clock. The razor-sharp minute, hour and needle-like seconds hands absorb every glance. The seconds scale at the end of the dial adds depth and detail. True to tradition, the watch displays the date in a steel frame at 3 o'clock. The crown is large and the "right" size. The crown features an engraving of "S" - which stands for Superspecial. The movement is a standard, but solid and reliable "workhorse" of Seiko, the automatic 6R15 movement with self-winding, fast seconds hand and 50 hours of power reserve. There's not much to say here, it just doesn't miss a beat. It has a panoramic back with plenty of room to observe all the details. The chain is not the original one, unfortunately.
