Shūzan (秀山) is a Kutani ware kiln name active during the Showa to Heisei periods. Kutani ware originates from Ishikawa Prefecture and dates back to the early Edo period (江戸時代前期, 17th century). Known for its vibrant enamel decoration and painterly surfaces, Kutani ceramics have developed through various stylistic schools over the centuries.

The seal “九谷秀山” confirms production by the Shūzan kiln. Works from this kiln are known for elegant glazing techniques and refined decorative balance. Based on style and glaze characteristics, this piece is estimated to have been produced during the late Showa period (昭和後期, 1926–1989 / likely 1970s–1980s).
