Born in Rouen in 1949, Jean-Pierre Dubord establishes himself as one of the most sensitive and consistent heirs of the Rouen School. His work, deeply rooted in the post-impressionist tradition, celebrates the changing light of Normandy, the banks of the Seine, the ports, the gardens, and the misty atmospheres that envelop his native region.
Remarkable artist, Dubord has a keen sense of motif and harmony. His palette, vibrant with blues, whites, and bright grays, allows him to capture with great accuracy the seasonal variations, dazzling snows, the mists of Rouen, or the marine clarity of the Normandy coast. Each canvas testifies to a rare atmospheric sensitivity, expressed through a lively and delicate touch.
An artist recognized internationally, he has exhibited in many prestigious galleries, notably in the United States and Japan, and in 1985 received an honorable mention at the Salon des Artistes Français in Paris. While he remains deeply attached to Normandy, Dubord has also painted Paris, Venice, and Brittany, always with the same pursuit of light and poetry.
Now based in Lower Normandy, he continues a body of work faithful to the Impressionist spirit while asserting a free, fresh, and luminous pictorial personality that has been captivating collectors and enthusiasts for several decades.
